7th August 2026 marked a big milestone for us – our very first deadline for the new Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax requirements. For many self-employed individuals and landlords, this meant diving into digital bookkeeping for the first time. We’ve loved getting to know everyone’s unique situations and helping them find the right tools for the job. Whether it was QuickBooks Self-Employed, Hammock for our landlords, or enhancing Xero and Sage, we found the right software for everyone.
Working side-by-side with our clients, we made sure all transactions were accounted for and every record HMRC-ready. Despite a few expected first-time hiccups, we’re thrilled to say every single submission was tucked away safely by the end of the day on 7th August!
Now that the first hurdle is cleared and the systems are humming along, some of our clients might feel ready to fly solo for the next round. Others might still want a friendly expert eye to check things over before the next deadline on 7th November 2026. Whatever you decide, we’re here to support you.
MTD for Income Tax will be expanding in April 2027 to include anyone with a turnover above £30,000. Please think ahead and consider if you need to begin putting processes in place now.
We’re always here for a chat. If you’re wondering how these changes might affect you, call us on 0161 850 3355 or book an appointment.
