Backup My Books is your safety net for Xero. It automatically backs up your Xero data for safekeeping. Although Xero is a safe space, it can’t protect you from human error and so backing up is a way to ensure your data is protected. It’s also a handy way of sandbox testing new software. For instance, if you decided to try a different app connector, you could restore your data into a new instance of Xero and test out its functionality.
Historical reviews
It keeps a rolling 30-day history, which is really useful if you’ve made a mistake and want to review the last backup.
You could also set it to pin a particular backup (like close of year-end) and ask it to save for 6 months, just in case.
Export to Excel
Do you like the comfort of an Excel spreadsheet and rely on it for deep analysis? You can export the data to Excel/Sheets for any offline record reviewing you need.
All backed-up data can be downloaded to your hard drive for complete peace of mind.
