Expense cards reimagined
Pleo is an expense card which you can top up with an amount you choose and then give to employees to control spending. Rather than handing out credit cards with crazy spending limits you can simply hand them a Pleo card and set individual limits for each staff member. It has a simple app employees can download on their phones and when they purchase an item, the app sends an alert asking for a photograph of the receipt. It sends reminders about the receipt via their phone and by email.
Accounting integrations
Pleo connects with multiple accounting systems including Xero, Quickbooks and Sage so that you and your bookkeeper/accountant can easily monitor the activity.
Ease of use and automation
Digitising your receipts and enabling your employees to submit their receipts and invoices via an app will save hours of hassle. Your employees can even connect Pleo to their email by enabling the “Fetch” feature and it will “fetch” related invoices to a recent purchase.
We’ve had feedback from our own employees and customers’ employees who have said they find it easy to use and it enables them to make purchases easily without having to share cards, scan receipts or put in expense claims. As the money is the company’s, employees don’t have to spend their own cash or use a personal card and wait for the money to go back into their bank.
If they lose their receipt, which can happen from time to time, they can state this on the app and explain what the expense was for.

The alerts via the app and emails, are great reminders to employees that they must submit expenses in a timely manner, which means very little chasing from management for proof of payment and helps to ensure your accounts are up to date.
