When Karen Garrattley started COS in early 1991 with just herself and a notebook she didn’t think it would grow into such a unique and exciting business.
After running the business for several years, and working alongside several other self-employed Bookkeepers and Accountants, she realised there was a gap in the market in her field. As well as bookkeeping she decided to branch out and create another side to the business. This is when she created the COS Membership Group. The COS membership is a support network for self-employed Bookkeepers and Accountants. For a monthly fee of just £10 they receive a whole array of benefits including:
- 75% off our training courses
- Monthly Membership Meetings to network and learn new skills
- Access to a range of different software packages
- Possible work opportunities (full/part time/employed/self-employed)
- A support network of professionals to help you when you need it most
We now have a membership of nearly 40 Bookkeepers and Accountants and a staff of 5. Those numbers are growing all the time, and as the demand for skilled Bookkeepers increases, we are desperately searching for more Bookkeepers to join our membership.
To celebrate this 25th anniversary our charity partners, COS & Friends Fundraising Group, will host a Masquerade Ball in aid of Cancer Research UK. We wanted to create an event that was affordable, fun and in aid of Cancer Research UK. With the tickets at only £20 for a live 20 piece jazz band, buffet, DJ and professional photographer it’s a no-brainer.
Here’s a video of the fantastic Dr Jazz and the Cheshire cats who will perform at our ball.
We would be honoured if you would come along and join us. We’re also looking for companies to help sponsor the ball as we need to raise £3,000 to cover the costs. Anything from £20 up will be greatly appreciated. Sponsors will be rewarded with social media mentions and an advert in the event programme. We’re also in need of raffle prizes, if you can donate your time or even just a bottle of wine we would be very grateful. For more information 0161 850 3355.
