5 Reasons Why Cloud Accounting is Better than Excel for Your Accounts

Many companies begin with excel when starting to record their financial activity but unfortunately this method can be risky, inaccurate and time-consuming. Here’s our top reasons why cloud accounting is essential for business.

  1. You can access it from anywhere with an internet connection

If your accounts are on The Cloud then all you will need is an internet connection for you to be able to access them. Everyone involved in processing your accounts can
have their own individual login and this is usually at no extra cost per user.  You no longer need to rely on supplying a copy of a particular spreadsheet or giving access to your laptop or PC.

  1. You can have access to live data

Xero, FreeAgent and Sage One all have a live bank feed feature. This means you can essentially view live financial data from your accounts. No longer will you have to consistently have your online banking open (that will often time out) alongside your spreadsheet and flip between them.

  1. It’s way more affordable than you think

With prices starting from as little as £2.50 you can afford to make your accounts easier to manage. There are a range of packages available across Xero, Sage One and FreeAgent so you can choose the option that suits your business requirements.

  1. They’re often easy to understand and navigate

Xero are particularly good at avoiding using lingo in their headings and descriptions and as a result it’s very user friendly. We have many business owners who attend our Xero training courses and come away feeling like they have a real sense of control over their accounts system.

  1. You can get support when you need it most

At COS we have a team of experienced bookkeepers who are here to help and support you. You can contact us by phone, email and on Twitter and Facebook too. There are also plenty of support forums, FAQ sections and how to videos across the web to help you with any software queries you may have.
